What we’re seeing play out in the social platforms of old is literally what was cried wolf about in the inception of the crypto movement, that the institutions will fail as they always do, and they will leave us holding the bag in the end as they were all man-in-the-middle attacks from the start. Extractive exploits.

They will end up acquired like Figma, by some massive evil corp, presumably Facebook, and proceed down the enshittification process with in conversation ads and all the above. Haha, I dunno, just popping off now. How do you see it play out?

To discords partial credit, earlier on they were exploring crypto integrations and then the midwits protested because they wanted to remain ignorant and the propaganda has always been “crypto = bad”
