I suspect most people will say Star Wars because they’ve done a better job of carrying the franchise and being backed by Disney doesn’t hurt. I remember for a while it used to be a pretty even contest, maybe slight tilt to Star Trek, if anything because they always had a strong TV show (TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Entperise, maybe others I don’t know) and some blockbuster movie every 2-3 years. Script has been flipped since they released Phantom Menace and the gulf has been widening, IMO. Long ass answer, I’m being neurospicy. 🤣 Short answer would be Star Wars now but probably Star Trek if you asked me this before 1999.
