Going through some old photos this morning. Came across this pic from a dinner at the Ancestral Health Symposium, 2013 in Atlanta. We were all so young back then. Pictured are Chris Kresser (the Healthy Skeptic, Kresser Institute), Nassim Taleb, John Durant, and Esther Gokhale.
My best guess is that the greater ease of global access to networks via the internet, especially web2, led to greater tribalism and echo chamber behavior. The result being a narrowing of opinions to fewer but major issues.
I worry when Man plays God with Mother Nature. Too many mistakes have been made because complex systems weren't understood well enough. I think a precautionary principle should be the default for anything attempted at this scale and magnitude.
