Many artists are making the most compelling work of their careers with AI and I’m here for it. Those desperately attacking and shaming artists who use AI in order to protect their own relevance are destined to fail.

It’s nuanced. 

I can understand artists being worried that they will be replaced by machine versions of themselves. That is a legitimate worry.

The companies creating AI are not doing it to benefit artists or humanity in general, they are doing it to profit as always.

On the other hand, I see a lot of artists doing great and unique work using AI. People like Refik Anadol, Vikki Bardot and Natalie Shau.

Refik in particular can’t even be accused of benefiting from using other people’s work as he trains his own AIs on his own material.

I think this kind of thing may be a way forward without the ethical issues.

...agree...I have to say that I use AI only because I have health problems...
