Many artists are making the most compelling work of their careers with AI and I’m here for it. Those desperately attacking and shaming artists who use AI in order to protect their own relevance are destined to fail.

It’s nuanced. I can understand artists being worried that they will be replaced by machine versions of themselves. That is a legitimate worry. The companies creating AI are not doing it to benefit artists or humanity in general, they are doing it to profit as always. On the other hand, I see a lot of artists doing great and unique work using AI. People like Refik Anadol, Vikki Bardot and Natalie Shau. Refik in particular can’t even be accused of benefiting from using other people’s work as he trains his own AIs on his own material. I think this kind of thing may be a way forward without the ethical issues.

Been having a ton of fun experimenting w/ AI by feeding it illustrations of my original characters. To me, it just feels like another medium to play in... AI-assisted art still requires human curation, taste and imagination.

I have no relevance, that has never been my concern. All I want is to use my time on Earth to increase love, share passion and spread aesthetic joy. If AI can assist me in that goal, no matter how fraught the terrain, then it is a tool I will use like any other brush or chisel.

Anyone who says that “you are doomed to fail” for whatever reason, to me they are doomed to fail. There is no worse way to say that you do not accept arguments, moreover assuming that any contrary opinion is offered only for personal benefit. Let's not talk like this between human beings...
