Curious why you think art creates friction?

well because liking the art is subjective. might appeal to some but not to others.

the main friction point is not the art though, its the floor for new entrants on poplar tokens. wen you remove the floor, u get more participants.

That's true - financial barrier to entry is much lower with a ERC-20 that is almost infinitely divisible in denomination.

One thing that NFTs have as an advantage though, is that there's a visual attached to each one, so it's easier for someone to identify with it compared to just staring at a numerical wallet balance
