Great piece, it explains why some people join Farcaster and then depart. usually, I'm someone who prefers Optimism Over Despair. Similarly, those who stay here have their own reasons. I believe Farcaster is still very much in its infancy, and the potential of its open protocol is far from fully realized. It has grown with crypto and is now facing challenges alongside it. The cozy corners may be small but they are gradually expanding. The upper-layer applications, like Legos, are just beginning to be built. Most importantly, as long as there are builders involved, there is hope for Farcaster and its ecosystem.

From what I see a lot of people just gave up. The confusion of constantly changing algo in Warpcast, bots, attempts to block bots which muted humans instead, etc Product experience aint ready yet. Agree the potential is massive, but also full of massive challenges.

The Warpcast client app is clearly not yet good enough to meet the needs of more people. Fortunately, others can build better clients on this open protocol, but even so, no mature team has yet built a great client product. There is indeed a long way to go.

Yes, exactly! Having an open protocol is so important, but building amazing products is very hard.
