@brianarmstrong this is a bad take. I would love to know specifically what about the policies proposed by Mamdani would inhibit "economic freedom" in a way that would harm the poorest people in society. Are 5 publicly owned grocery stores going to prevent someone from going to a private grocery store? No Are free buses going to stop someone from taking a cab, riding a bike or driving their own car? did you know that most big societies/countries have hybrid economic systems lol. not 100% capitalist or socialist. i dont think socialism has ever worked. great in theory but terrible in practice.

The second largest economy in the world is communist (a sub sect of socialism). Yes, typically most countries incorporate some public ownership or government provision of things like infrastructure and education, but to be truly socialist the workers have to own the means of production.
