From my perspective the answer is obvious as there seems to be an antipathy towards institutions and any kind of political posturing or alliance is a means to an end.

And why, Farcaster as ‘online Singapore’ or whatever actually makes the most sense for product market fit. It really is like a network state and that framing explains a lot. No judgement just feels clearer, it’s like a New Thing.

Coinbase’s sponsorship of the military at first seems to undermine this thesis but if you read Balaji’s Network State it’s explicit that cozying up to police and military is part of the game plan.
