Interesting thought experiment. My take on it would be: 
Think we need to differentiate crypto into (my read of it): 
- CR1-Crypto: started as cypher-punk-allure which turned into mostly financial betting on new currencies for the sake of increasing own fiat bags. This is where blackrock now sits

Planet, punk rock, penguins - and foxes, foxes are cool, too!

tl;dr: Altruistic climate warriors come for the tech and are put off by degen, ticker and shitwifhat, climate altruists come for the financial opportunity, crypto seeks for a massive "finally a good application of my peoples' tech" situation
