In residency, when someone was coding, it was common to hear nurses ask "Where's Dartanian?" Dartanian was the ICU doctor everyone trusted, if she couldn't save the person, no one could I now hear "Where's Omen" when people crump. It's terrifying and amazing all at once. It's respect earned from "man up" ing when duty calls (gender inclusive, it's weird there's no similar English phrase for females)

The best is when they are relieved to hear you are on, after initially confusing for another physician on the phone. My name gets confused with Singh often 😂 Wholeheartedly agree, there’s something about going through the trenches and injury. Scars form, but so does muscle.
