In residency, when someone was coding, it was common to hear nurses ask "Where's Dartanian?" Dartanian was the ICU doctor everyone trusted, if she couldn't save the person, no one could I now hear "Where's Omen" when people crump. It's terrifying and amazing all at once. It's respect earned from "man up" ing when duty calls (gender inclusive, it's weird there's no similar English phrase for females)

You only get that grit through battle: competitive sports, competitive education, insane hours studying, setting goals just to see how high you can go. But with the battle comes injury: physical, moral, mental. Find someone you can vent to, even if it's random internet strangers. Take breaks, the battle will always be there if you want it, your health may not be. https://farcaster.xyz/0x-omen.eth/0x82dd374d

The best is when they are relieved to hear you are on, after initially confusing for another physician on the phone. My name gets confused with Singh often 😂 Wholeheartedly agree, there’s something about going through the trenches and injury. Scars form, but so does muscle.
