The political discussions happening the in U.K. feel about 5/10 years ahead of Australia - Wide acknowledgement that high immigration has many drawbacks (and you're not labelled a racist for saying that) - Greater public support for the re-nationalisation/reform of core services (e.g. rail network, health system) - Far more sober treatment of the U.S. as a declining military/economic power Refreshing

if you have any position in the market that isn’t an all world ETF index fund you’re implicitly stating that the “market is wrong and I’m right” To buy any investment (which implies to the exclusion of another) means you are making a bet that the market hasn’t fully understood or factored in some information, and that when it does you’ll be rewarded. Doing this requires believing the market can be wrong at a given moment, otherwise it’s contradictory and irrational.

the biggest mistake people in this industry make is conflating market dynamics with truth "we got more users so I'm right" "look at the price ratio, I must be correct" I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, Terra Luna had thousands of users and tens of billions in market valuation - the market is not a truth machine, it's a capital allocating machine, and capital can and is grossly misallocated often, especially in this industry

An interesting problem with the Core vs Knots debate is that what the Knots side really want is a consensus level change to prevent "spam" from being allowed in blocks entirely; but they can't change consensus unilaterally So even if, say, 70% of nodes folks ran Knots it wouldn't really make any difference 'cos any mining pool that doesn't pledge themselves to the Bitcoin religion (e.g. Mara) will happily accept inscriptions as valid transactions, which the Knots nodes will also have to consent are valid after they've been mined in a block For now it looks like Core is going to try to push ahead and hope that Knots drama dies down, which it might. It might also further galvanise the zealots and motivate them to initiate the fork they deep down actually want though The fork strategy is very risky of course, 'cos if you lose you fork yourself off the network (see BCH), but if it were ever going to work it would probably start out with the narrative of...
