The subset of people who have (a) the skillset to identify these errors, (b) the time and effort, and (c) for whom 200K is meaningful is vanishingly small Even if you satisfy (a) and (c), you probably don't have (b). That is, if you're a good dev without much money the optimal risk/reward for your effort is to either start a company or join one, either way you just lost (b). Put differently, it's just not worth the opportunity cost of spending weeks pouring over a seemingly battle-tested five-year-old protocol to maybe (**maybe**) get a slice of 200K. If, however, you have (a), but not (c), then you might have (b). In which case you're a good dev who's already rich with plenty of time on their hands. Well now 200K isn't that meaningful, and so if you're going to spend the requisite time to identify a bug like this you might think to yourself "hmmm, why should I take the 200K when I can have 9M instead? 200K doesn't move the needle, but 9M does." https://x.com/banteg/status/1995803682760269959

Casts are boosted, okay here I go: - Your moral values are primarily the result of evolutionary adaptability, and not some objective set of ethical facts (indeed, the conviction that moral values are objective is itself evolutionarily adaptive) - Most discussions comparing base layer assets focus on technical differences presently, without much consideration given to the social dynamics that reinforce or undermine those technical properties over time (e.g. Bitcoin security budget concerns) - Human rights aren’t real. They were invented in the wake of WW2 to protect citizens from their own governments, but because governments are sovereign there’s nothing to prevent them from abusing their own citizens, which they all do whenever is expedient - Global debt in the fiat monetary system is meant to perpetually increase, this is by design and a good thing under that system - Gas optimisation in solidity smart contract design almost always represents a bad trade-off
