there are so many new consumer behaviours / roles emerging from crypto... collecting, trading, predicting, issuing, lending, market making, shilling, curating and they're all the foundation for massive opportunities that haven't been won yet incredible time to build

seeing more consumer crypto products keep speculation and crypto mechanics out of the casual user experience and core value prop, but leverage it for the power user / power believer experience few examples... @focustree_app (on twitter) is a productivity product where you earn tiles for completing focus sessions that you use to build a personal digital garden. the rare pieces are nfts but you don't need to know that or care unless you want to trade / speculate on them. they're going viral on tiktok with no mention of the financial benefits of the product. @pumppartyapp (on twitter) is a live gameshow platform where you compete in mini games to win prize pools (think a modern hqtrivia). they're focused on making the casual game inherently fun, cultural, and entertaining, while building more degenerate crypto-based game modes for people that want it. think it's a good recipe for projects with mass market ambitions

one of the big open challenges in consumer crypto right now is figuring out how to use to tokens to reward participation and distribute ownership to people creating value without entering into a transactional relationship with them i have complete conviction that having skin in the game can strengthen belief and improve internet experiences, but only if we figure out how to structure distribution models in a way that makes earning secondary to the emotional benefits of participating people showing up primarily to make money will always result in low effort participation, shitty communities, and horrible retention

fwiw the zora economic model feels mostly right to me, they just need to figure out how to scale the network more non-crypto friends, more recognizable mainstream personalities, real possibility of going viral basically i think instagram with zora's mechanism would go crazy
