How it started vs how it’s going lol
Will clarify there is nothing wrong with LazyVim, especially if you want a nice default. My opinion is many people start with a distro but then find too many things they want to change, and eventually it becomes easier to just start from scratch.

I was the opposite. I had my own config for years, built from scratch, but I got tired of constantly having to tweak it and it was becoming very close to what lazyvim does anyway. So I dumped it and moved to lazyvim.
