Say it with me folks Republicans don’t give a shit about veterans New VA leadership makes rule re-evaluating disability ratings based on “on how you’re currently doing on your present medication, not how bad your condition is without it” As written, it means you will not be compensated even if your service directly causes you to have to take medication for the rest of to your life. Republicans don’t give a shit about veterans Besides the obvious outcome of making high performing vets less employable after their service bc of the lost degree opportunity, this also seriously hurts veterans as a group over the long term I was the first veteran many of my Harvard classmates had ever genuinely known irl. I consistently had people share with me that they were surprised a veteran could be smart (or nuanced or independent thinking). It was rude as hell tbh, but I could tell they were trying to be genuine. Without my friendship, they would have retained every stereotype of the ignorant, PTSD damaged, order following dummy that pop culture taught them as they headed off into their eventual positions of power and influence. The elite class already has very little overlap with the warrior caste by nature of their different starting points in life. This empty gesture to own the libs structurally undermines one of the last times the rich kids might organically learned about veteran issues.

Today is the 250th Marine Corps birthday, happy birthday Devil Dogs! Once a Marine, always a Marine is our motto and no other branch takes the same approach. We are the only branch to have been established in a bar and, we are the "President's own." Just as our hymn says, "We are the first to fight for right and freedom". I am proud to claim the title of United States Marine! For me, it was more than an honor to serve the USMC, it was a privilege! Anything I do in life, I try to make sure it falls within my Marine Corps values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. Every year I make sure to run in honor of all Marines that have served; past, present and future. To another 250 years of being the greatest fighting force, Semper Fidelis 🫡
