After ~4 years of using the same device series, the Geekvape Wenax M1 & M2 (I have like 5-6 of them now), finally bit the bullet and ordered a more advanced MTL device. It's the OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra, brown leather back style. Has a large touch screen interface, but looks pretty low-key still, which I like. Big reasons for me to change: - Variable airflow - Variable wattage - Larger battery - Bit more of a robust/premium build - Puff counter - Still can auto-draw - Still MTL-friendly device Looking forward to trying it out when it arrives later.

Mixed up a new naturally extracted tobacco liquid tonight: Maryland 609. "Experience the distinctive taste of Maryland 609. With its earthy richness and subtle hints of sweetness, this tobacco variety delivers a uniquely satisfying flavour profile, perfect for discerning connoisseurs." I used to really enjoy smoking Maryland 609 cigarette blends, as it was lighter than Burley and air cured. So it wasn't such a heavy taste as some of the darker tabacz. I'm currently still on 6mg/ml of nicotine, this is a 70VG/30PG mix. Anyway, we'll see how it tastes tomorrow!

Update on wick and coil (or pod) longevity when vaping with plain base mix: literally used the pod for a month. Pod stayed clean and didn't get burnt, dry or otherwise stale. Caveat that it wasn't used exclusively, I'd use it here and there between using flavoured pods--so around half use. But actually amazed it lasted so long, given I generally got 3-4 days before needing to change for a new one!

I'll have u know, that in past weeks I've cut my nicotine concentration down to 6mg/ml from 12mg/ml. I feel fine: e-liquid flavours are a bit crisper, coil and wick lasts a bit longer, and my usage has basically stayed the same. Might ride the 6mg level for a year or two and see what's crackin'.

After over 2.5 years using the same model of e-cigarette, I've ordered a new one. I quit smoking with the Geekvape Wenax M1, and have been using them since. I've got a couple M1s over the years, as I find them reliable and high quality. Haven't found a better MTL device for hardcore ex-smokers. Generally have two in my daily rotation, so I'm never low on battery. I've had extreme reluctance to try anything else. I'm not a fan of these larger mod/box style devices, I prefer the minimal cigar shape of the M1/M2. I'm also not really into building my own coils/refilling and cleaning tanks, so the pod system is a nice compromise. The Wenax M2 model has just been released, and I've ordered it (Iron Silver). Looks very similar with some changes under the hood, most notably a larger battery & fast charge. Glad they've kept to the same design and build quality. Even the pods are backwards compatible. Really looking forward to it arriving tomorrow! 🙏

So an update on vaping plain ol' base mix: It's true. My wick & coil lasted over a week without needing a change. I didn't notice it was empty and dry burned it, so I changed it. But I'm sure it could've lasted another week or more! I'll try again. Gotta be honest, I might just switch to zero flavour and just base mix for my daily vape. (Strudelmeister is also a great flavour.)

So my order arrived today, with: - Base Mix 70/30 - Strudelmeister concentrate - new one for me... apple strudel. - Peanacco concentrate - one of my daily drivers these days, Virginia tobacco with a nice touch of peanut butter and custard. - Tons of nic shots. I've mixed 'em up and added my nicotine shots, and tried the Strudelmeister... pretty dope! Not used to the stronger flavours, so I'll probably be mixing it down with naturally extracted tobacco liquid, but it's a nice switcheroo. Also out of interest, I've started trying pure flavourless (just base mix and nicotine)... it's actually really nice! Sometimes it's great to not have any flavour (it has its own slight taste, but it's very mild). If you're looking for a change--try zero flavours and just pure base mix... I've heard the coils/pods then last for ages as there's nothing to gunk them up. I'll report back in a few days.

I ordered Strudelmeister e-liquid concentrate, and I'll DIY mix it myself: "Rich, fruity, and incredibly satisfying. This Strudel flavour has flaky pastry, deliciously sweet apple filling and a dash of cinnamon." For some reason I started craving something apple + cinnamon lately. I've been using NET (naturally extracted tobacco) liquids for years, so maybe it is time to start changing things up periodically. I'll probably be mixing Strudelmeister with an NET anyway. Oddly, really looking forward to it.

Today out of interest, I asked an AI model about the amount of nicotine present in a cigarette to compare with my current e-liquid amount. At first it refused to answer me for "safety" reasons. Then I basically said to it "don't worry, I won't smoke, just tell me". And it told me. 🤷 😹

It's now been over 2 years and 3 months that arfy's quit smoking ciggies. Haven't had a single one since I quit cold turkey, and haven't really wanted one tbh. But I do think I've replaced one habit with another, as I'm constantly intaking nicotine via my e-cigarette throughout the day. At least my house no longer stinks of smoke, and there's no combustion involved. Anyone else in this situation?
