I've been watching my partner come home exhausted every night - not from holding space for her clients, but from spending hours writing notes afterward. So I built her a tool. Scribular transcribes sessions and generates notes, all on her computer. No cloud stuff. It gave her her evenings back. Now I'm sharing it in case other people's therapists need it too: https://www.scribular.com Therapists hold so much for us. Seems like the least we can do is let them know better tools exist.

Why is this in my movie? is such a great question to ask whenever something challenging or irksome presents itself - what is there to learn, understand, reflect on that this is pointing to. And is this an opportunity to do something different (even if only slightly different) than what I’ve done before?

A person’s behaviour in moments of friction reveals more about their moral reasoning and emotional maturity than their stated ideals ever will; action is the psyche made visible.

The primary purpose of therapy is to help us become aware of the unconscious parts of our mind, understand and accept them so we can then begin having mature control over them. It's recognising the parts of ourselves that got stuck in survival mode and teaching them they don't have to live there anymore.

I wake up at 5.30 three days a week - sometimes four (depending on dinner commitments 😉) It’s changed my relationship to discipline - I find waking up pre dawn, meditating, working out all before everything is buzzing around you is a deeply soothing and satisfying practice. 5.30 club #itap

“We tell ourselves stories in order to live. And it is worth pausing to ask: Are the stories you are telling yourself nourishing you? Are they brave? Are they generous? Do they allow for change, for growth, for the breaking and remaking of the self? If not, let them go and rewrite them with care. You are the author, after all.” — Joan Didion
