before events were common, celebi was basically unobtainable.
so gamers didn’t wait. so they broke again pokémon gold and silver.
caution. this is a risky and complex one.
the celebi egg glitch (party method).
here’s how you can do it:
1. get an egg that will hatch into a pokémon with beat up as its 3rd move (usually leveling a male and female sneasel up to level 57 and then breeding them.)
2. create a bad clone using the pc cloning glitch (deposit multiple pokémon, change boxes, reset at the right save timing). timing: gold/silver, reset shortly after the yes/no box disappears (about ½ second after “power” appears). crystal, reset right after “saving… don’t turn off the power.” finishes printing (around the second “f” in “off”).
3. identify the bad clone (glitched name, sometimes female, may become level 1 when withdrawn).
4. deposit the bad clone into the day care and take it out to stabilize it into a “?????” pokémon.
5. place the ????? at the top of your party.
6. use “move pokémon without mail” to force a 7th pokémon/egg into your party (party overflow).
7. talk to the day care lady and leave the ????? inside this time (don’t withdraw it yet).
8. release the 2nd and 3rd pokémon, then move the egg to the top of the party. (if names glitch, reset and retry)
9. release the 3rd pokémon three times, then the 2nd pokémon once. (this is the critical corruption step)
10. take the egg and start walking until it hatches.
the egg hatches into Celebi. if it hatches at level 0, level it up (rare candy or day care) to learn its proper moves.
