Rifts #61 by @hashrunner
If we think of Ethereum as a medium, then its message ought to be the EVM's computational and network affordances.
But this message is often not clear or easily understood. In most cases, it is buried within the architecture of a smart contract, its meaning compressed into the contract's bytecode, readable only by a machine.
Rifts inverts this in a remarkable way. By rendering a smart contract's bytecode into a human-readable form, it flips the script on who should "execute" this batch of code.
The machine—the EVM—becomes the passive onlooker, with barely any logic or instructions in the code to latch onto.
On the other hand, the human can now play an active role to interpret the code and create meaning from the patterns the code expresses.
