Today's Based Gooeys lore post is about the Grumpy Stump!
Grumpy Stumps are tree stumps that have come to life from the energy flows found within the Shimmering Fields. Like Wily Wisps, Grumpy Stumps are possessed by an inner spirit.
Grumpy Stumps are easily annoyed by intruders who encroach into their territory or steal their precious mushrooms. This is problematic for foraging Gooeys, who often find delicious fungi covering a stump and try to harvest them, unaware that the stump is alive--and very grumpy!
Grumpy Stumps tend to be fierce creatures. Territorial by nature, they often give up chase once you leave their turf.

Today's Based Gooeys lore is about the Wily Wisp!
Natural tricksters, Wily Wisps are spirits comprised of energy flows found throughout the island. While Wisps can appear across the lands, they tend to congregate around the Shimmering Fields due to its abundant energy flows.
Wily Wisps have a mischievous chaotic nature, often attempting to lure, scare and steal from unwary Gooeys as sport and entertainment.
Wily Wisps are able to change form, playing tricks on naïve Gooeys. They often imitate the appearance of Gooeys as a way to lure unsuspecting Gooeys into dangerous situations. Benevolent Gooeys commonly fall victim to Wily Wisps, mistaking them for their kin in need of assistance.

Today's lore is about the Clutter Crab!
As their name suggests, Clutter Crabs collect things and place them on their shells as trophies. Some of their finds are of questionable utility, but they will collect and steal whatever catches their eye!
Unfortunately their penchant for theft means that Gooeys are often faced with the challenging task of confronting Clutter Crabs to reclaim stolen items.
Clutter Crabs grow in size during their lifetime and like most hermits, prefer a life of solitude. An older Clutter Crab's shell can sometimes look like a pile of trash from afar due to the amount of items it has hoarded. Like many crabs, it can vacate its shell and change, sizing up as they grow. Beware their pincers and keep your belongings with you at all times!
