if duna proposal fails, the next best option will be for those in favour to fork. what is the likelihood of a fork in such case? or does the foundation value provenance of the canonical dao over a forked instance?

Trying to understand this point. Wouldn't the Cayman entity + directors be the responsible party and thus have limited liability? They ultimately have veto power so can take the position that voters are simply an input but not control mechanism of the treasury and therefore not liable?

The whole point of Nouns (imo) is to run an experiment in continuous, permissionless capital formation and distribution. I know the Foundation is thinking about this deeply but I hope that there is an alternative path that doesn’t require KYC for recipients. It breaks the hyperstructure and makes the experiment much less interesting.

How would KYC practically work in this case? Is the onus on the recipients to somehow report their identity somewhere after receiving the funds? Surely the KYC doesn't get protocolized, right?

Personally, I think that this "Escrowed Streams" method is gentler than the "Forks" method, increasing the sense of accomplishment and lowering the "anger value", although there is a possibility that the rate of growth of the treasury funds slows down. all things considered I am more in favor of this new method. ⌐◨-◨

Fun fact: the Wyoming DUNA bill is what @atxdao drafted with @a16z. We got it passed through the house but not the senate on the first round, but we’ll dao our best again next cycle. Props to Wyoming for making it happen 👏
