Hello dear Monique friends!
Okay, okay. it took way longer than expected to announce the new Monique.
Let's start with the cool update: ENS integration is dope: you can resolve any mnemonic with the addr.id suffix (it's also a new name I'm considering).
This is huge, it means that you can already use mnemonics inside any wallet or explorer that supports ENS!
Now the other (less cool) update: I'm hoping to build a more efficient naming algorithm and I need your help.
I started a discussion on the Ethereum Magicians forum on the challenge of using a checksum and reducing the space of available mnemonics. So far I haven't found a satisfying solution. With the current 4-bit checksum and bip39 wordlist there are "only" 500M addresses that can fit in 3 words. That will not be enough if I want to include L2 addresses in the longer term.

Even better: a default human-readable name for all active addresses, that's what monique does!

TradNet can be so annoying. I just bought a cool domain for Monique @ensdomains support: addr.id
It was only available on Gandi, I didn't see that Gandi did not support DNSSEC for .id domains yet, and the domain cannot be transferred to another registrar before 60 days.
Sad day.

Originally, mutable monics were supposed to be a set of NFTs on Eth L1. Now that more and more people are onboarded directly on L2s, it would make sense to have monics directly available on those.
We could mint monics on Arbitrum, OP, Base, Starknet, zkSync.. What else makes sense?

Dear Monique friends, I'm still working on the promised early access for people who shared their Monic on FC.
Right now I have a raw list of shared frames. Some of them aren't valid, but can still count.
However, not sure of what I should do for people who shared the monics of other users.
What do you think?

My monique is empty for this wallet in particular. I do not have any transactions in the Ethereum network, but have on Base.
