y’all i’ve spent this month cooking up a new brand manifesto, and i’m legit excited about it. been awhile since i've felt this energized by a writing gig it’s for an app called lightpage, which is kinda like a moleskine notebook, but with some thoughtful AI baked in the founder (who sadly is not on fc yet) and i have been having crunchy convos about the sacredness of human relationships, the future of AI, how extremism hollows us out, the importance of attention, trust, play, etc it’s all very “how do we stay human in a hostile, uncertain world” vibes as the manifesto takes shape, i’m gonna share lots of messy, behind-the-scenes bits here. basically let the process be open, conversational, a lil chaotic kind of a scary endeavor for my inner perfectionist, so who knows, this might also be kinda healing lmao oh, i’m also documenting the whole thing more formally on my newsletter. so if you wanna follow along, here’s the official opener! https://ungated.life/p/the-lightpage-chronicles

“the purpose of writing a manifesto is to launch yourself into a quest, the trials and tribulations of which will temper your soul and help you cultivate the courage, grace, and genuine leadership we so desperately need in this chaotic world, bro” -me, when the uber driver asks for directions

it's limiting to think of a manifesto as "yours" lotta freedom in letting it belong to a moment, to a movement, to some transformational energy that wants to be born through you.

writing a manifesto is about creating a microcosm of the world you want to live in, and inviting people to join you there

this is why i’m obsessed with manifestos. it’s one of the few genres of writing that, when done well, helps us feel the consequences of worshipping the wrong thing, while directing our imaginations and hearts towards what’s been calling for our worship all along.
