I have a pair of these no name, no label speakers laying around. Been thinking about making it my first speakers build project. Seems like a good place to start for taking a speaker apart and modifying it.

Started down the car audio rabbit hole last night due to my OEM 9-speaker Bose System has started showing signs of suck. What makes this process even more interesting is I can’t change my head unit, due to the built in nature of its design. There’s so many options… Seems keeping everything is the simplest way, and run a Line Out Converter from Bose Amp, to a new Amp..it’s almost too much already.

I was just jamming this tune heavy otw into work, to realize my passenger side tweeter is blown. OEM car stereos are meant to be blown IMO…Time to upgrade I suppose. The whistling in the chorus of this one is what tipped me off. Whats the saying? No highs, no lows, ITS BOSE. https://open.spotify.com/track/7lirdOcXuV6nIPH1NTNwW8?si=bXNvMm3cQVGV_Dx7mEqHbg

only in hi-fi do you end up with remotes that cost as much as a small television. truly beyond parody. this thing weighs like 5lb with a solid metal enclosure, no plastic. the buttons use tactile switches (like a keyboard) that produce a satisfying “click” when pressed.

this afternoon’s CD: Jim Hall - Concierto (1975), japanese UHQCD reissue. an enjoyable listen start to finish with an all-star sextet cast including Paul Desmond, Chet Baker, Ron Carter, Steve Gadd, and Roland Hanna. Jim Hall is probably in my top 3 all-time for jazz guitarists along with Grant Green and Wes Montgomery. they each embody a certain effortless mastery and on this album in particular Hall’s playing is quite introspective and restrained.

this afternoon’s CD: Miles Davis - In a Silent Way (1969), hybrid SACD mastered from the original master tapes. arguably Miles’ first fusion album and with one hell of a cast: John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, and Tony Williams. sprawling, ethereal, and with many twists and turns for a studio production. a deep, relaxing listen with oodles of texture and delicacy to keep you entranced.

Keinemusik from Germany have always had a focus on quality over quantity. Can't wait to hear these things one day. They look wonderful. They started their own hardware company "TEILE" a few years back, and now they're doing speakers. https://teile-elektronik.com/product/lautsprecher-sl2
