VeiledTCG 🎴✨ My love for card games started back in my casino days. Then came fantasy games like Hearthstone— I was hooked by the blend of art and randomness. Since then, I’ve played many. Each with its own charm (and flaws). With Veiled, I'm blending the best of them— Strategy. Art. Chance. But also something more... 🌍 What if playing a game could help the planet? That’s the mission.

Gaming Industry Is Struggling. 🎮 These two posts really highlight the issue: Most game developers now aim to make games addictive, not fun or entertaining. That’s the problem.

🚨 1 Billion Users? Not So Fast. If we bring 1 billion users into Web3 today, we won’t just be scaling innovation—we’ll be feeding the scammers. 📉 2023 global scam losses: $1 TRILLION 💸 2023 Web3 scam losses: $30 BILLION 🔮 Projected by 2026 with 1B users: $150 BILLION in scam-related losses Before we scale, we need education. 📚 1. We Need Education Before Abstraction Simplifying the UX is great, but it’s not enough. People also need to be taught: 🔵 How to spot scams 🔵 Basics of cybersecurity 🔵 Ethics and values in digital spaces Web3 companies should allocate real budgets to educational initiatives—not just UX polish. I'm personally building an educational game that tackles scams through storytelling: 👉 https://www.mindattic.io/plankton But I can't do it alone—collaborators and support welcome.

Update with learning Unreal Engine: Decided to buy more ram for my laptop, should arrive in the mail today. Instead of running the engine on a virtual machine, gonna dual boot Pop!_OS instead as it has built in support for Nvidia drivers. Was mulling over just buying a new laptop, but gonna hold off on that. My current laptop is at least 3 yo, but it still works perfectly fine and is a pretty beefy machine. Don't want to upgrade unless I get super serious with UE dev. For now I'm just dipping my toes in the water.

Getting back into learning UE5 but recently found out that Epic moved their entire asset store to some platform called Fab. Problem is that I made my own build of UE5 since I'm a Linux user and Epic Games Launcher is not officially supported on Linux. Don't even remember how I manage to set up the build in the first place and have no clue how to install the Fab plug in from scratch. Did manage to get the launcher working via a wine GUI but UE5 runs like crap on it and constantly crashes. Trying another GUI to see if it works any better. Part of me wants to give up and just use UE5 on a Windows 10 VM. On the other hand screw Microsoft and their anti privacy BS, I would prefer not to go that route unless I absolutely can't figure this out. I just wanna learn game dev bro, come ooooooonnnnn 🙃
