This is Derek, a persistent slime mold who lives under my compost pile. 90% of the time, Derek is invisible. Without form or place, Derek reduces itself to microscopic scale. To Derek, this compost pile is as vast of the largest of gas giants is to us.
Then Derek embarks on billions of journeys, traveling farther than even the Artemis 2 crew to convene at a single place and become one single organism. One body, containing billions of individual nuclei.
Derek grows. Derek takes action. Derek moves by engulfing the world around it, simultaneously advancing and retreating with deliberate and coordinated collective action to reach a conspicuous and inexplicable place of Derek's choosing. Then Derek releases its spores and dies, only to come back somewhere else when the moment is right.
Derek is the ultimate ephemeral DAO machine.
Be like Derek.
