The creator and the machine — Every time the design world gets a new tool, it feels like we’re supposed to question its legitimacy. But if you look back—artists experimenting with algorithms in the ‘60s, engineers making art with code, designers using mathematical patterns centuries ago—it becomes clear that sharing creative ground with new tools is nothing new. What excites me is how these innovations always push us to think differently. Sometimes they provoke debates about originality, sometimes about control. But mostly, they offer new ways to explore ideas, break routines, and let accidents become inspiration. I think it’s on us to stay critical, stay playful, and keep experimenting. Because at the end of the day, creativity isn’t about the tool—it’s about the possibilities we unlock. https://www.doc.cc/articles/the-creator-and-the-machine

The Cult of Creativity — Samuel W. Franklin's eye-opening book reveals a shocking truth: creativity, one of America's most sacred values, is actually a mid-20th century invention. Far from being a timeless human trait, the concept of creativity as we know it didn't enter everyday conversation until the 1950s... https://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/C/bo194772998.html?ref=magazine.metalabel.com
