All things cooking.

I once had a roommate who felt bad that she was the only one not cooking group meals in the house. So she insisted on trying to make us a meal off of Epicurious, a recipe site. But reading text-based instructions can be confusing if you’ve never actually cooked before. I walked in on her pouring half a gallon of Costco-sized olive oil over some mushrooms. She misinterpreted “cover the mushrooms in oil” and really went for it. We salvaged the oil before she heated it. She was so stressed. I told her it’s great we had mushroom-infused olive oil. Fun fact: I’m in the thank you notes of a best-selling cookbook as one of its recipe testers. Cookbooks usually have multiple recipe testers before publishing to ensure directions are written in a way people will interpret correctly. Video’s a perfect medium for cooking and has enabled many more home chefs to develop their skills, like television once did.

If you ever hand-washing dishes, be sure to also scrub the exterior and/or handle (esp wooden utensils) Sometimes our hands are much dirtier than the inside of the dish.

As an Asian, I need to cook different meals 3x a day, to be specific. A menu that should be paired with rice because my family can't eat just pasta for dinner. I would like to ask for any recipe or menu you can share with me because I'm having a hard time thinking of what to cook again today.

Carrillada or pig cheeks in the making!! I can't understand people that don't enjoy cooking 😒 it's probably one of the most rewarding self/family care routines you can do apart from regular exercise. To take time to prepare somthing good and nutritious. Its a gift, an offering, a sweat smelling oder. Rather than banging some premade shite in the microwave while you can get back to greedily swallowing down some more premade shite on the telly and knocking back a prozack for depression 😳
