Books 📚 are now my faithful companion. I am currently reading "The Sorrows of Satan" by Maria Corelli, considered a bestseller, which was written more than 100 years ago and is still relevant today.

The Thief of Always is a dark fantasy novel by Clive Barker. It tells the story of a young boy named Harvey Swick who is bored with his dreary life. He is offered an alternative at the magical Holiday House, where every day is perfect. However, he soon learns that the house has sinister intentions. The novel explores themes of childhood, desire, and the passage of time. I'll certainly be recommending to my daughter when she is a little older.

Finished 'The Stranger in the Woods' last night. It's the true story of Christopher Knight who disappears into the woods in Maine for 27 years. A genuinely fascinating read which will appeal to those who sometimes long to escape into the wilderness. He routinely stole what he needed in order to survive from nearby cabins. This ultimately led to his capture and jail time but the fact that he managed to stay alive undiscovered for so long is astounding.

Was looking forward to reading Normal People after all the rave reviews I had read. Rooney writes really well, particularly dialogue, but ultimately I found this novel rather hollow. The main characters motivations for behaving in the way they do is never fleshed out and supporting characters are so thinly sketched as to be almost non-existent. So, left quite disappointed and somewhat amazed by all the positivity around such a mediocre novel.

Stubbornly going to read a few pages of this before I sleep. I'm taking a break from crime thrillers to read a little bit of romance. This was recommended on Twitter, I hope it's worth it. If you have any recommendations of Enemies to Lovers trope, pleaseeeee recommend right away. /Books

Currently reading Quint after buying it on special offer for 99 pence. Had never heard of it before but have always been fond of the original Jaws movie and the Quint character in particular. It's not the greatest book you'll ever read but worth a go for those who enjoyed the film or have an interest in the sinking of the USS Indianapolis.

Started reading it ends with us tonight and just got finished with chapter 10. It’s 10pm and I’m about to get some rest for tomorrow. Synchronicity? Yes. Mentally preparing myself for the way I suspect this book is going to rip my heart out 😣 but in the meantime SWIPE -> to enjoy these cute little collages

I love the mystery genre in literature, and I recently read 'The Night Gardener' by Jonathan Auxier. It seems like a children's fairy tale at first glance, but it's seasoned with a Tim Burton-esque gloom and spiced up with very adult life lessons. It's a fictional story based on the very real history of the Irish Potato Famine. The book grabs you from the very first pages. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants something 'a little spicy' and to just relax without overthinking
