having trained a custom Flux LoRA on my latest vulva vitrea artwork, I'm now experimenting with Forge UI and the Ultimate SD upscale script to try to get LoRA-guided upscaling like I was able to do previously with the paid subscription services to get the amount of detail and shine in the upscaled images I am looking for
I _think_ I finally found settings that will work all the way through to 100% completion
a single 6x upscale using an RTX 3090 takes 2hrs with this process is taking
(an earlier process that would take 45 mins seemed to be saving an interim image at ~50% and silently failing somewhere between 99% and 100%, so the interim image never got replaced)
this feels like learning to walk again
cannot understate how much easier the subscription service made all this
but, like I said in the QC, I can't afford to keep losing money on my art

For the past couple of years, I've made all of my AI art using paid subscription services because I struggled to understand how to do LoRA models locally.
I recently ended the subscription and am now beginning the process of recreating newer versions of the models I used on my local machine.
My PC has an RTX 3090, which is powerful enough for the Flux LoRAs I've been using.
(Flux V1; apparently the newer FluxV2 might require double the VRAM of my GPU, from what little I've read about it.)
Wish me luck. It's both exciting and a bit scary.
The big thing to remember is that all custom models can be recreated, since I saved the training dataset images for the Flux LoRAs. And I can't afford to keep losing money on my art.
