Did you know that pistachios are not nuts, but fruits? From a botanical point of view, pistachios are stone fruits, like peaches or cherries. However, unlike these fruits, we do not eat the flesh, but the seed inside the stone. Therefore, pistachios are technically considered fruits, although in cooking they are often referred to as nuts.
