so many concepts from cryptography could be introduced in elementary school imagine if instead of "boring equations" of lines, kids were hiding secrets together then suddenly they would be excited to learn about polynomials https://x.com/zkillustrated/status/1886431863440322899

I think this is the best sum-check explanation I have read so far. As usual, the concept and building blocks are very simple, but can feel overwhelming when introduced all at once

yes, these are perfect examples of over-complicated, carefully calculated airdrops where they tried to exclude as many people as possible to avoid sellers lmao

just imagine if the hyperliquid team was paranoid enough about future sellers and after careful calculations and properly planned marketing budget, they excluded 95% of their users from the airdrop maybe instead of $30B market cap, now they could be at $3T, flipping BTC!

if they don't get the airdrop, User B will flood social media and rage post about how scammy the airdrop was, probably not worth the negative vibes even if user B sells, they will bullpost, helping w/ marketing hyperliquid is a good example of this, bunch of people sold early, but bullposted the project to $30B FDV

is this the first BTC rally that happens exactly as the OGs always wanted? - bond market rugpull, but it is controlled enough to avoid a liquidity crisis - relative weakness on equities - nowhere to hide except BTC (and gold, but gold already went up a lot)

I don't think hyperliquid or any other speculative app is a good example for "most consumer experiences" it is reasonable to expect risk takers to understand the details of the platform they are using, but it is completely unreasonable for everyday people

at the same time the 20y is not really that significant, low liquidity and much less meaningful than the 10y or 30y for now, this just puts a constraint on the administration, in a positive way, forcing them to behave better even if you assume the worst from everyone else, Bessent knows the bond market pretty well

100% most people come to crypto because they are disgusted by finance, they want less of it, not more

> Using a decentralized chain is just an arbitrage on compliance requirements this is a big win already, especially if the endgame is replacing some of the $10T eurodollar system with cryptodollar using a decentralized chain for settlements validates crypto for the boomers, not for us

- a small group of people can turn these headwinds around - they are motivated to do the right things - they are unable to do the wrong things due to constraints revealed in the last couple of weeks everything else is a reality show

Really, all of cypherpunk / free software / ... is just trying to preserve boundaries that were unquestioned in the year 1900. * Your device serves you, not some gov or corp overlord * You can repair and modify your device to better serve you * Your private conversations are private * Your private money is private

"privacy" isn't a cypherpunk "narrative" it is the normal thing we can just call private chains normal chains and everything else "transparent chains" seeing each other's tx history / balances / spying on counterparties is the version that needs explanation or "narrative"

found this great web app for cayley graph plotting while I was trying to visualize quotient groups and direct products of groups https://juliapoo.github.io/Cayley-Graph-Plotting/ others were all 2D, but that is not enough for groups, being able to rotate these structures in 3D helped me a lot
