Sad news: Stamen (SF data + cartography studio, major influence in the data viz scene since 2000’s) is shutting down Map Stack. Map Stack was a free service that let you create and host custom map tiles for Google Maps-style web maps. It never made money, so it’s no surprise Stamen wants to retire it. there was more experimentation from DAOs w/ frames last year than w/ mini apps this year (e.g.: @botto, @vocdoni, @nouns prop house, @orangedao app). is this due to DAOs falling off a bit? or due to a frustrating frames experience that discouraged them from mini apps? something else? would love opinions (+ intros!)
