What I find most fascinating about the Elon/trillionaire situation is at the sum is truly greater than its parts. The summed value of the raw material and cash flow, even the individual businesses his empire does not equal the value attributed to him. Furthermore, as soon as you try to express or realize a non-unsubstantial portion of this wealth, it shrinks, diminished. Memetic value: enough people agree that he's a trillionaire, so he's a trillionaire. That's literally the whole game.
