The Shift Towards On-Chain Activity
Traditionally, airdrops were distributed based on simple criteria, such as holding a specific token or signing up for a mailing list. However, this approach often attracted "airdrop hunters" who sought immediate profits without genuine interest in the project's long-term success. To counter this, projects have started emphasizing on-chain activity, rewarding users who demonstrate authentic engagement through regular transactions and interactions with decentralized applications (dApps).
