Funny story: Back when I was studying CS, I used to compete a lot on topcoder.com, design, algo, anything I could get into. I even made it to a few onsite competitions in the U.S., which basically paid for my MS studies.

At one of them in DC, I finally saw Tourist in person for the first time. I already knew he was a monster at competitive programming, but seeing him live, quiet, focused, solving problems like it was nothing - was unreal.

Years later, I got the exact same feeling when I saw @vitalik.eth. Different scenes, but same vibe. Geniuses who aren’t trying to be impressive, they just are.

Also wild: that DC comp is where I met Alex, who ended up co-founding NEAR. Wilddddd.
