Lots of new ppl getting into @databaseballfun !
So, here are the basics:
⚾ use the mini app to MINT players. that is the first step to starting a team! I recommend minting at least 10-20, otherwise you will not play games.
⚾ each player represents a real baseball season from history, one year of one player's career. There are about 165K total player seasons in the data set.
⚾ When you mint a player, you will see the szn's PV (Player Value) highlighted. This is a rough estimation of how good they are in the game, but not conclusive as to how they will perform. The simulator uses the underlying stats themselves to determine at-bat outcomes.
⚾ get your lineups configured in the TEAM section. You can use Auto Lineups. If you have hole in your lineup, ghost players will fill in (but they suck).
⚾ Each day, four games will automatically be simmed. You are paired with other teams in your Tier, which is set based on the total player value (PV) in your lineup.
⚾ If you win, you get glory and points.
⚾ The season is ~162 games long, so it will wrap in about 5 weeks. Then, the top teams get to play in the playoffs.
⚾ $DAT is not yet usable in the app. It will be the currency to buy players in the secondary market, which is in development.
