Finished this book by Anne Goldgar and didn't realize Tulipmania as we know it was mostly untrue? Or at least the interpretations we get from Madness of Crowds Reminds me of when NFTs went crazy in 2021. Plenty of think-pieces but in reality, volume was driven by a small cohort of individuals

I remember using google circa 2000. Basically as soon as I used it, I began to use it for everything. It was this indexed tool that opened up entire worlds to me. I could learn new things, discover communities, answer questions...
