IntentX’s request-for-quote (RFQ) model in over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives could bridge the gap between traditional finance and the rapidly evolving crypto markets. However, the adoption of RFQ in the crypto space is uncertain, as the market is largely used to decentralized, transparent trading mechanisms like AMMs and order books. For crypto natives, who are often accustomed to non-custodial trading, the centralized nature of RFQs could feel restrictive. IntentX will need to demonstrate how the RFQ model offers value over decentralized alternatives, particularly in terms of cost efficiency and liquidity, if it wants to appeal to the crypto-native community. The success of this model could be dependent on its ability to lower transaction costs while ensuring transparency and security.
