5. Why is getting covered by reporters such a big deal? Reporters are supposed to be ethical and unbiased, that’s literally their job. Compare that to a community post, which might just be farming for an airdrop. A lot of good reporters don’t hold tokens on purpose. It’s about staying neutral. That kind of integrity matters. Journalists help push your story beyond the crypto Twitter (CT) bubble. They give you access to a much wider audience.

4. But… why do I even need PR? You can have amazing tech (like a lot of companies), but without a strong narrative, it’s hard to stand out. People connect with stories. If they like, they’ll want to work with you, for you, and even fund you.

I have been spending my time going down the rabbit hole of PR in crypto and here are few key takeaways from Hype's PR team: 1. PR is a long-term game. If you're an early-stage startup, you might not need it right away, especially if your product isn’t even live yet. 2. Ideally, start thinking about PR a couple of months before your launch, NOT one week before. Know your story, nail down the what and the why, that’s your edge, your MOAT. 3. If you work in PR, don’t set expectations too high. narrative building takes time. It’s not magic. Reality check: No one can guarantee you organic coverage in a month. If someone says they can, run
