Work life balance. The short answer is there is no work life balance. If you're running an early stage startup with a family the longer answer is you just have to prioritize what you wanna spend time with. So in my case, I do three, four, or five things. So the following things. First thing is I work.
Second thing is I spend time with my kids. Third thing is eat, sleep, and then occasionally I work out. I literally don't do anything else. I like my whole world is those five things. And yeah, occasionally might have one social thing here or there, but there is no weekly social calendar thinking about like hobbies or any of that other kind of stuff.
It's really focused in on work and family, and it's a face, right? Like I, I don't think this will be always like this. And I knew what I was signing up for. I'd been early at Coinbase, not a founder, but. Knew what an intense startup would be, and it's a choice, right? Not everyone has to do it, and that's fine. 5 replies
