Been here for a bit less than a year, but never knew about this great way to introduce myself! I’m a freelance translator specializing in audiovisual content (yep, I get to be among the first to watch new movies and series). I’ve tried a few business ideas — like selling clothes online (which turned into flipping a social media page for cash) and even built a prototype for a baby stroller with a kick scooter part. Still figuring out my entrepreneurial path, but I love building ideas! Right now, I’m enjoying the balance of work, family, and personal time, while brainstorming a new project. I also love working with my hands, whether renovating furniture or baking something delicious. I’m here to connect with great people (which I’ve found a lot of!), dive into inspiring conversations and ideas, and explore niche communities, especially dedicated to freelancing, self-employment, and new business ideas. So, I'm getting my first boost (are there more than one though?) Gonna use the chance to introduce myself a bit. At the moment, I am a freelance translator, mainly doing subtitles for movies and series. In the last 6 years I've translated over 6000 various assets, and this feels like one of the best jobs in the world. I also co-own a little fast-food joint in Kaliningrad, Russia. In the past, I was a purchasing/category manager in sportswear (Reebok), Liquors and Tobacco (Heinemann Duty free), and e-commerce (Inditex). I also enjoy being a father of two wonderful girls, 5 and 10 yo. And, naturally, I have a certain interest in crypto and web3, otherwise I just wouldn't cast this here on FC.
