Being unemployed in your 30's hits different.
My friend's company had an org-wide layoff. A person from each department lost their job.
One person who stood out to me was a 30-year-old with a wife and 2 kids who had just taken out a mortgage for a new house.
Growing up, I would hear and see stories from my immediate family. People who had made their careers and lives in one or two companies.
Then COVID hit, and I saw firsthand how big corporations fired people en masse. This was ofcourse a black swan event.
Now I am seeing how Artificial Intelligence is hollowing out careers and industries.
Gone are the days when we could rely on a single source of income and security.
You need to be constantly hustling 2 to 3 opportunities because you never know what might hit you.
This applies 200% when you work in crypto. Most work contracts are on a contributor agreement with an exit clause for the company.
