Quiet Lesson on Effort
Last week, I served on a recruitment panel. After weeks of screening and assessments, three strong candidates made it to the final stage, a simple virtual interview.
Only one showed up.
No messages from the other two. Just silence.
It made me wonder: after putting in so much effort, why stop at the final step?
Yes, life happens, emergencies, and unexpected issues. But it raises a deeper question: are we truly prepared for the opportunities we claim to want?
We often talk about success and financial freedom, but when doors open, fear, doubt, or poor planning can hold us back.
This isn’t to cast blame, it’s a moment to reflect.
Effort isn't just about starting strong. It’s about showing up till the end.
So, why do people back out just before breakthrough? And how can we build the habit of finishing what we start?
Let’s talk. Maybe in understanding others, we also learn something about ourselves. 1 reply
