I've auto-bid higher starting bids as attempt to increase token value, knowing I'd likely be outbid on most. 

Now I see after reading this I'm also  creating an imperfect environment by shutting out many.

I'll reduce that activity and also inquire into how to organize a giveaway of 2 of my purples.  Recommendations?

Whatever your decentralized, borderless, neutral, censorship-resistant open blockchain question is, the answer is YES… to Crypto!

There are hypersubs and party.app's that set up a "dao-like" entity to buy certain NFTs.  for example there was an outcast one and a few others.

Maybe someone makes a more palatable "buy a purple" party and then they coordinate [x] people to get together to buy a purple and maybe they find a way to vote on how to vote

I believe this is what group purple did /is doing

Purple is a Veblen good — the higher the daily auction, the more people will want it

Your daily bidding has done a valuable service to support the treasury

Instead, we need a different way for people with less capital to become engaged that is non-dilutive
