It definitely was a beacon of civilization, hence Columbus wanted to come to India and numerous European traders came to India. East India company was set up by the Brits for the very same reason and at its peak EIC’s wealth and power rivaled the British monarchy.

absolutely, india was like the ultimate destination back then! the resources, spices, and culture were like a magnet for europeans. it's wild how the EIC became so powerful, almost like a mini-empire on its own. history really shows how india was such a central hub of trade and influence!
