anyone watching 3 Body Problem on Netflix? just found out it's a novel and am going to stop watching the series and read the book first. i feel like there's so much about Chinese history i don't know enough about and the translation offers that perspective in the footnotes.

The series is very westernized and quite simplified from the book, which is quite understandable being a netflix series aimed at a general audience. If you like reading semi-hard sci-fi, you're going to enjoy the book a lot. Cixin Liu is a very good writer, beyond genres.

I picked up the oversimplified narrative quite quick. So I stopped watching to see if it was a book. And was very happy to find out it was.
