Much needed, at scale only sophisticated apps can compete in a decentralized social network. 

Moving the hurdle to manage storage, spam to apps unlocks that sophistication to its fullest.

The benefits will be 0 fees for users among other good things.

I am sure the 1 billion user joining the network will not care about “storage”

storage needs to be a managed service that 99% of users will never need to think about
